How it differs from traditional braces
Lingual brackets are customized to fit each patient's mouth perfectly, based on a 3D intraoral scan, and are bonded to the back of the teeth. They are as effective as traditional braces for complex misalignments: tooth rotations, closing spaces after extractions, leveling tooth height, and cases that require jaw surgery.
Because they are fixed to the teeth, there is no risk of losing them or forgetting to wear them: they work all the time, regardless of the patient's discipline.
How does treatment work?
- Initial consultation: our specialists perform a complete exam of your teeth and oral health.
- 3D scan: we take a digital scan of your teeth, with no impression putty.
- Custom design: from the scan we design and fabricate custom brackets and wires for the back of your teeth.
- Periodic adjustments: once placed, we adjust them every few weeks until we reach the result.
- Duration: from several months to about two years, depending on each patient's needs.
